2024 Literary Arts: Saul Bellow Three-Ounce Stamps

This USPS Literary Arts issue honors novelist Saul Bellow, a recipient of the Nobel Prize, Pulitzer Prize, and three National Book Awards. The stamp shows Bellow in a fedora and dark jacket against a Chicago street scene with the elevated train. USPS art director Ethel Kessler designed the stamp with original art by Joe Ciardiello.

Three-ounce postage value

The words “THREE OUNCE” identify the stamp’s postage value. One stamp may be used for a qualifying domestic First-Class Mail letter weighing up to three ounces. Like a Forever stamp, it remains valid for the three-ounce rate printed on it even when postal prices change. Other mail classes, nonstandard shapes, or heavier pieces may require different or additional postage.
